The Yorba Linda Lacrosse Academy announced in a press release today the formation of the new Lady Lightning Lacrosse League for 3rd through 8th grade girls living in north Orange County, CA. Lady Lightning will be under the co-direction of Ms. Staci Williams and Ms. Susan England who serve the Whittier College women’s lacrosse program. Lightning League registration for both boys and girls begins February 23, 2013.
“Lacrosse is one of the fastest-growing sports in California for both boys and girls. When we launched the boys’ Lightning League in 2011 we heard from many families wanting a lacrosse program for their daughters,” said Mike Schreiber, Academy founder and president. “We chose Staci and Susan to lead the girls’ program because of their solid coaching and lacrosse experience. They will provide the league’s volunteer parent coaches with extensive support and help teach the Lady Lightning players how to play the game and develop fundamental skills needed for girls’ lacrosse.”
