Corona del Mar High School won its second consecutive inter-state lacrosse game and improved to 3-0 on Wednesday with a 16-3 victory over Fort Collins of Colorado. Junior Noah Howe led the Sea Kings’ offense with 7 points (4 goals and 3 assists). The win continues Orange County’s impressive early season performances against teams from outside the area.
Sophomore Jordan Greenhall (2 goals and 4 assists) and junior Nino Chavez (4 goals and 2 assists) each had 6 points on the night. Junior Ben Palitz and sophomore Stephen Von Der Ahe each scored two goals. Junior Chad Redfearn scored 1 goal, and Nick Yi became the fourth sophomore Sea King in two games to score his first varsity goal.
Junior Hoyt Crance (6 saves) and sophomores Nick Guizen (1 save) and Ross Sneath (3 saves) split the goaltending duties. Sophomore Jason Simaan won 13 face-offs. Great defense was played by juniors Hugh Crance (Notre Dame) and Brett Greenlee, and senior Daniel McCabe.
