Workhorse of the Week: San Clemente’s Dylan Hartanov

Dylan Hartanov, a sophomore defenseman for the No. 2 San Clemente Tritons (5-0, 9-4), is the Athletes Choice Workhorse of the Week. Not only is Hartanov a workhorse on the field, but he is a great overall person according to head coach Brendan Finnerty.

“Dylan is just an all around great kid,” Finnerty said via email. “Always working hard in practice, in the weight room, and as a student of the game. He is a type of kid that will put in extra work on his own to better himself and the team.”

Hartanov also plays for the 3D Southland 19 club lacrosse team, and played varsity football for the Tritons this past season. A two-sport varsity athlete as only a 10th grader, the sky’s the limit for the defender.

“As a sophomore he has worked his way into a starting role,” Finnerty said. “At the end of the day his hard work and dedication forces me to keep him on the field.”

San Clemente is currently on track to win the South Coast League, and head to the postseason for their eighth consecutive season.
