Wolverines Make Statement vs Hawks

WolverinesAliso Niguel Wolverines came out Tuesday night looking to make a statement to the Sea View league in their first league game of the season.

Junior attack Jonah Rinaldi started off the scoring for the Wolverines and did not slow down the rest of the night. Rinaldi is doing everything that he can to make sure that he is being mentioned in the conversations for Orange County talent.

Laguna Hills was able to keep it close through the 1st quarter period ending with Aliso 2 Laguna Hills 0. Rinaldi scoring both 1st quarter goals.

With Aliso up 3-0, off a goal by sophomore Garrett Huong, Tyler Braithwait was able to put one in the back of the net for Laguna Hills bringing to score to 3-1.

Aliso would go on a 7-0 run to close out the half at 10-1. Rinaldi had already recorded a hat trick by half time as the Hawks defense had no answers for him, and did not seem interested in double teaming him.

The second half began much the same way as the first half ended, with Aliso scoring the first 6 goals of the half. Braithwait again, was able to put an end to the bleeding with his 2nd goal of the night for the Hawks.

Final score ends in a 16-2 victory for the Wolverines. Rinaldi ends with 9 points for the night (7 goals, 2 assists). Aliso was able to spread the scoring around with 6 other Wolverines notching goals as well.

Players of the game:

Jonah Rinaldi who was able to do just about everything he desired while improving on his shooting percentage – 7 goals and 2 assists.

A stunning performance by Aliso Niguel defense as they were able to shut down the Hawk offense and allow goalie Austin Stahl to have a slow night between the pipes. Defenders: Sawyer Hulse, Conner Reed, and Cole Lattimore were virtual walls.
