Watson, Malmlund Lead Beckman Over Servite

Alex Watson (6 goals, 1 assist) and Alex Malmlund (3g 3a) combined for 13 points to lead the No. 14 Beckman Patriots over the No. 17 Servite Friars 14-6 on Friday night.  It was the fourth win in five games for the Patriots.

Watson and Malmlund were just two of nine Patriots who picked up points.   Also notching points for the Patriots wer Jake Waltz (1g 3a), Aidan O’Connor (1g 1a), Ryan King (1g 1a), Nolan Harris (1g), Justin Wayt (1g) and Justin Norris (1a).   Goalie Tyler Schweickert had another double-digit game in saves (12), and added an assist.  The team collected 33 gbs, led by Justin Norris (6 gb) and Justin Cheng (5 gb).

Kyle Cartwright (2g) and Matt Glenn (1g, 1a) led the Friars with two points apiece.  Adam Armienta (1g), Trevor Branca (1g), Chase Anderson (1a), and Jason Heil (1a) completed the Servite scoring.

Beckman (5-4;3-0) plays three Pacific Coast League  games this week, starting with a visit to Woodbridge (3-5;2-2) on Monday, April 13.  Next, they host Northwood (9-3; 3-1) on Wednesday, April 15 and travel to Sage Hill (1-2; 1-2) on Thursday, April 16.

Servite (4-7; 0-1) plays J Serra (7-3; 1-0) on Tuesday and Esperanza (6-3; 4-1).
