corona_del_mar_sea_kingSophomore Stephen Von Der Ahe’s 5 points (4 goals, 1 assist) led Corona del Mar to a 16-3 win over Sage Hill School. 

The Sea Kings, who led 9-1 at halftime and 14-1 after three quarters were never challenged in this one.  Ben Palitz also had 5 points (3 goals, 2 assists).  Nino Chavez (2 goals. 1 assist), Noah Howe (3 goals, 1 assist), Jack Denning (2 goals), Hugh Crance (1 goal), and freshman Tony Del Crognale (1 goal) completed the CdM scoring.  The young tandem of sophomore Jason Simaan and freshman Sam Haase dominated faceoffs, winning 16 of 19. 

Del Crognale and Haase were both impressive in their varsity debuts. 

CdM has two Top 10 contests to look forward to next week; Santa Margarita on Tuesday and St. Margaret’s on Thursday.  The lightning fall to 4-4.  They have three Pacific Coast League games next week; Woodbridge on Monday, Uni on Wednesday, and Irvine on Friday.
