The Village Christian girls’ lacrosse team extended their undefeated start of the season to 5-0 with an 11-3 victory over Louisville. Three of those victories have come across ranked Division 3 teams (Westridge, California, and St. Monica Academy) .
Freshman Layla Cates (19 goals), Delaney Konjoyan (17 goals), and goalie Angie Mendoza (36 saves) are leading a group of athletic yet still green teammates. Many of the Crusaders are multi-sport athletes who just started playing lacrosse. The young Crusaders have leveraged the depth of athletic talent previously applied t volleyball, soccer, cheer, dance and other sports to hold their opponents to an average of 4.5 goals per game so far this season. . With 28 players on the roster this season, it is safe to say that the game of lacrosse is growing enthusiastically at VCS.
