Ventura Area Names Seven US Lacrosse All-Americans

Coaches representing the Ventura County area announced last week that seven players have been named U.S. Lacrosse All-Americans for the 2016 season, including two each from Marmonte League teams Westlake, Agoura and . School had the seventh players honored.

 
Seniors (attack) and (defense) were selected from Marmonte champion Westlake. It was the second year in a row that Reilly earned All-American honors. He will play next season at Jacksonville, while Sullivan will play at Dartmouth.

Agoura senior goalie and junior middie also earned All-American honors. Pawlak will play at the Hill Academy in Canada next year during a post-graduate year. Shargel is the only junior to be selected All-American.

Senior defenders and represented on the list of All-Americans, and first-year coach was named the Ventura-area Coach of the Year. Torabian will play at Boston University next year, and Eisel will play at High Point.

Senior goalie , a three-year starter for , also was recognized with All-American status.

US Lacrosse All-Americans are the best players from their area. They exhibit superior skills and techniques, possess exceptional game sense and knowledge, and embody good sportsmanship.

Additionally, , a senior middie and attack at Newbury Park, was named Academic All-American. He will play next year at St. Mary’s of Maryland. Newbury Park assistant coach Peter Wells was named Assistant Coach of the Year.

Chris Reilly, president of Westlake Lacrosse and father of Brett and Westlake freshman Nick Reilly — as well as Chapman University senior Connor Reilly — was named U.S. Lacrosse Man of the Year for the Ventura area.
