The Valencia Vikings got the first win in their inaugural girls season Saturday, coasting to a 12-5 victory over visiting Norco.
Junior midfielder Kayla Konrad dominated draw controls all game while pouring in five goals to lead all scorers. Valencia got on the board 44 seconds into the game on a Konrad score and never looked back.
Valencia (1-1-1) had balanced scoring output from seven different players. Sophomore attacker Kiki Shakir scored twice while assisting another. Brooke Yamamoto and sister Mandy Yamamoto each added a score, as did Katie Von Mecklenburg, Shelby Lewis and Chy Pagkalinawan.
Freshman netminder Marissa Hassmeman stopped four shots en route to the victory.
