Turmoil in Boys Lacrosse Coaches Poll But CdM is Still No. 1

In one of the most tumultuous coaches polls in recent years, Corona del Mar held on to the no. 1 spot.  As was this case in the preseason poll, Foothill, St. Margaret’s, Santa Margarita, and San Clemente rounded out the top five behind CdM.  The undefeated Sea Kings secured their perch with 28 of the 32 first-place votes.  The other first place votes went to Foothill (5-4) who received two, No. 5 San Clemente (4-2), and No. 11 Los Alamitos (4-4).

Contrary to the consistency in the top 5, the rest of the poll was all shook up.  The biggest changes came in the lower half of the Top 10. Servite jumped from no. 9 to no. 6.   Mater Dei rose eight spots to no. 9 and Yorba Linda took 11 giant steps to advance to no. 10. El Toro and Tesoro held steady at 7 and 8, respectively, to complete the Top 10.

Big movers in the other direction included JSerra falling out of the Top 20, Great Oak dropping eight spots to No. 14, and Newport Harbor falling from No. 10 to No. 19.
