The Trojans beat James Madison in the first round before falling to third-seeded Duke in the round of 16. After beating USC, Duke advanced to the semifinals before losing to No. 2-seeded North Carolina and finishing 16-5 overall.
Michigan, which began playing lacrosse as an NCAA program in 2012, lists Brendan Gaughan, a redshirt junior from La Costa Canyon in Carlsbad, and Gunner Garn, a freshman goalie from Tesoro HS (Orange County), on its 2016 roster. Gaughan came to Michigan as an attackman but switched to midfield as a redshirt sophomore. Last season, he scored four goals and had three assists for the Wolverines.
Delaware has made three NCAA Tournament appearances and posted four Top-20 finishes in the past 10 years. Blue Hens alumni include Brock Livingston, head coach at Crespi Carmelite in Encino (LA County) and Grant Kaleikau, an assistant coach at Mater Dei (Orange County).
