Harvard Westlake’s Philip Thompson celebrated senior day Saturday with six goals, 16 face-off wins and 17 ground balls, powering the No. 4 Wolverines to a 16-4 win over visiting Crespi in the Mission League and regular-season finale for both teams.
Thompson scored the game’s first goal just 1:20 into the first quarter, and Harvard Westlake didn’t trail again. The lead reached 8-2 at halftime, and Thompson scored consecutive goals to open the third quarter, pushing the lead to 10-2 with 10 minutes to play in the period.
Paul Rodriguez had four goals and an assist for the Wolverines, and Zac Harleston scored twice. Jack Doyle and two goals and an assist for Crespi (3-14, 1-7).
Harvard Westlake (12-4, 5-3) finished the regular season with three consecutive wins after losing back-to-back games to Loyola and Chaminade.
