The Oaks Christian Lions went 16-5 and reached the semifinals of the US Lacrosse LA Playoffs last spring, the best finish in the program’s 13-year history. That came on the heels of a 10-8 record and the first playoff victory in program history in 2016.

Heading into 2018, third-year coach provided some about the Oaks Christian Lions.

Things to Know: Oaks Christian Lions

Key Returning Players

New Coaches
Coach Jeff Hale has just come on board with us at Oaks Christian. Jeff played Division I lacrosse at University and was the first committed player in the program’s history. Coach Hale is from Bethesda, , and played his high school lacrosse at Prep.

We just completed our Fall Ball Training before Thanksgiving. We reduced our number of Fall Lacrosse practices to allow our players to focus on academics, other sports and extra curricular activities.

We had a nice weekend participating in the Las Vegas Lacrosse Showcase over the Nov. 11-12 weekend. From now until Christmas Break, our players will continue weight training, as well as begin small-group training.

[Note: Among the Lions playing other sports is junior midfielder Nate Lenthall, a safety on the Oaks Christian football team. Last Friday, Lenthall delivered a game-winning, 95-yard interception return with 10 seconds to play in the Lions’ 31-24 win in the CIF Southern Section Division II semifinals. See below.]

Alumni Game
We welcomed 20 Oaks Christian Lacrosse Alumni on campus the Friday after Thanksgiving for our annual Alumni Game. We enjoyed a great time playing, eating and developing community around Oaks Christian Lacrosse.

Best Nickname
Ronny Redell: Lemon Spice. He carries it in his backpack for emergency situations.
