The OC in NCAA D1 Playoffs

Orange County lacrosse will be well-represented in the 2015 NCAA Men’s Division I Lacrosse playoffs. The playoff pairings were announced on ESPN U Sunday night.

Denver: The fourth-seeded Pioneers have a pair of OC alums on the roster. Senior midfielder Erik Adamson (Foothill-Santa Ana) earned All-Big East honors this season. He is joined by sophomore longstick midfielder Scott McGowan (St. Margaret’s Episcopal). The Pioneers open tournament play at home on May 10 vs. Brown.

Albany: The America East champs have the greatest scorer in NCAA history (senior Lyle Thompson) as well as standout freshman defensman Stone Sims (San Clemente). Sims was named to the All-America East All-Rookie Team as well as All-America East Second Team. The Great Danes will play No. 8 seed Cornell on May 9.

Yale: The Bulldogs won their third Ivy League title in the past four years, and feature junior midfielder Michael Keasey (Corona del Mar). Yale plays at 6 seed Maryland on May 9.

High Point: The Panthers won the Southern Conference and head to the NCAA Tournament in just its third season as a D1 program and made the NCAA playoffs for the first time in school history. Freshman midfielder Peyton Garrett (San Clemente) and the Panthers play at Colonial Athletic Conference champ Towson on Wednesday, May 6, for a chance to play at No. 1 seeded Notre Dame on May 9.

Good luck OC alums!
