It was a big week for Orange County boys and girls lacrosse in Nike/LM West Report. In terms of square footage, Orange County represents a very small percentage of the multi-state area covered by the West Report. You’d never know it though by the amount of attention being paid to the OC these days. Click on the link above to see for yourself but here is a summary:
Mater Dei’s Grace Houser was mentioned as a notable player for her performance last week.
Foothill girls lacrosse was mentioned for falling out the Regional 10 because of “three straight losses to in-state foes Mater Dei, La Costa Canyon and Torrey Pines.” Probably not the kind of publicity they were looking for, but hats off to the Knights for getting to the Top 10 in the first place.
Speaking of Top 10. The Foothill boys are No. 2 in the West and CdM is No. 4. San Ramon Valley at No. 10 ahead of St. Margaret’s?? Really!? 16-9 says otherwise.
Who’s Hot? Corona del Mar is Hot. “Corona del Mar (Calif.) remained undefeated, earning its 12th consecutive victory in a game against El Toro (Calif.). The Sea Kings still have several tough games remaining.”
Last night’s J Serra-CdM tilt was listed as a game to watch “This is a prime non-conference matchup between two of the top programs in Southern California. Corona del Mar is undefeated and led by defenseman Hugh Crance (Notre Dame), his brother and goalie Hoyt Crance (Yale) and long-stick middie Brett Greenlee (Denver). JSerra Catholic is 8-3 on the season.”
