Tesoro Rolls Over El Toro

TesoroTesoro High School stayed one game behind San Clemente High School in the South Coast League race by beating El Toro 13-4 on Saturday. Tesoro travels to San Clemente, and for the third year in a row the SCL title will be on the line when these two teams meet.

Tesoro used the old hat trick of hat tricks trick to foil the Chargers with three players, Blake Warner, Riley Finn, and Brandon Mayo, recording hat tricks. Sage DeVault (2 goals, 2 assists), Matt Costanzo (1 goal, 1 assist), and Cole Spooner (1 goal, 1 assist). Riley McQuaid, Zane Smith, and Mitchell Bender dished out on assist apiece. Gunner Garn rejected 13 shot in a busy game between the pipes. DeVault, Cole Spooner, and Cole Roberson all scooped up groundballs.

The Titans have two games next week that could factor heavily into the playoff seedings. In addition to playing San Clemente, they will host Great Oak on Friday. El Toro does not play again until April 22 when they travel to Foothill.
