With a scoreless first quarter, Tesoro chose to take charge of the second quarter. Jason Moreta (2g,2a) gave Tesoro the jump with the first two goals off feeds from Cole Spooner (3g, 2a) and Jonathon Gibson (1g,1a). Spooner then ripped one in off an assist from Moreta, and added a second unassisted. He then went on to feed Brian Graves (1g) to end the half at 5-0.
Aliso came back hard in the third quarter when Jeremy Traub (2g) rolled from behind the cage on his own to put Aliso on the board. Tanner Clarke (1g) then took a feed from Jake Lombardo (2a) oto give the Wolverines their second goal of the quarter and tighten the gap. But it wouldn’t last long as Gibson widened the gap with a top shelf corner off an assist from Moreta, and Cole Spooner added one more unassisted to ended the quarter at 7-2.
Racing the clock, Sam Chassey (1g)used a quick stick to drop one in with a pipe shot recovery and start the fourth quarter with one more for the wolverines. Tesoro’s D-Pole Riley McQuaid (1a) responded by fighting his way down the long field to feed Freshman Carson Spooner(1g) and add one more for the Titans. With limited time, Traub put in one more off an assist from Lombardo but it was not enough before the clock bells rang and the score remained 8-4.
