Tesoro Boys lacrosse posted a commanding 14-1 victory over Beckman on Friday. Jason Moreta was the leading scorer with six points (3G, 3A) but the real stories for the Titans were the shutdown defense and unselfish offense. Six different Titans found the back of the net.
The first game after daylight savings provided a nice hour of additional sunlight. Beckman’s Spencer Thompson (1G) started the Patriots off on top after a nice feed from Zack Carter (1A). The Titans did not take to kindly to that and came back with an unassisted goal by Ryan Harrington (2G) followed by a Titan second unassisted goal by Carson Spooner (2G/1A). The quarter ended a tight 2 to 1 but Tesoro turned it on in the second quarter and never looked back.
Chris Grafia (2G) added the third point for the Titans off an assist by Jason Moreta (3G/3A) who added the fourth goal himself with a feed from Spooner. Long-Pole Ethan Patterson (1G) charged down after the face-off scuffle to put in the unassisted goal 5 which was followed by an unassisted goal by freshman Luke Molinari (2G) to end the half at 6-1.
The Titan momentum kept on through the second half with Moreta adding goal 7 unassisted, then turning to assist Jonathan Gibson (2G/1A) for number 8. Gibson then doubled down with an unassisted goal and an assist to Harrington who put the Titans at 10. Moreta then fed Molinari for goal 11 and put in goal 12 himself with a great feed from Marcus Huerta (1A). Spooner and Graffia added two more by themselves late in the fourth to finish the game at 14-1.
