Team Citius Lacrosse, run by St. John Bosco coach Ryland Huyghue, is offering a three-day speed and lacrosse training camp at St. John Bosco in Bellflower next weekend.
The camp runs Friday, July 31, through Sunday, Aug. 2, at St. John Bosco. More information and registration is available at the club’s web site.
According to the site, speed training coach Ed “GoGo” Lovelace will implement the same speed-training system that Coach Huyghe as used as coach in 2009 with Cal State Fullerton, in 2012 with Santa Monica High School, when the Vikings competed for state non-CIF high school team title, and this year’s St John Bosco team, which placed third in the state for non-CIF programs.
The camp also will have goalie coaches, faceoff coaches, high school coaches and the Bosco coaching staff. “This is an instructional camp focusing on proper mechanics of catching, passing, shooting, ground balls, team defense and offensive moves,” the site says.
