PATRICK CHESTER NAMED BOYS’ LACROSSE HEAD COACH AT MATER DEI

(SANTA ANA, CA) – Patrick Chester has been named head coach of the boys’ lacrosse program at Mater Dei High School, school administrators announced today. Chester coached this past season at St. Margaret’s High School as the assistant varsity coach and head JV coach, where he helped the varsity to a CIF SS Championship. He currently is the head coach of Victory Lacrosse and FCA (Fellowship of Christian Athletes) Lacrosse teams, where he focuses on the physical, mental and spiritual side of the players by stressing the core values of dignity, integrity and grace.

“As a former player and current coach, Paddy brings over 30 years of lacrosse experience to Mater Dei. Combined with his undeniable passion for the sport, we look forward to what he will bring to the program,” said Phil Bellomo, Mater Dei Athletic Director. Over the years Paddy has had success on many levels as a player and coach including internationally with the England National Team, on the collegiate level and high school level.

Chester can’t wait to start with the team. “I am excited to be here and most importantly to impart some knowledge and love that I have for this great game of lacrosse onto the young men of this school. I look forward to coaching them to the best that they can be and to build a fun, successful program at Mater Dei,” Paddy said. Paddy graduated from Sheffield University, in the United Kingdom with a Bachelor of Education in Physical Education and Environmental Studies.
