Agoura’s Jonah Swigart and Newbury Park teammates Mikey Marinelli and Chucky Smith (pictured, left to right) were named U.S. Lacrosse All-Americans from the Ventura area for the second consecutive year, topping a list of seven players selected for the honor for the 2015 season. All three also were named All-American as juniors in 2014.
Also named All-American from Ventura were Westlake teammates Jesse Cuccia, a senior middie, and Brett Reilly, a junior attack, Thousand Oaks senior attack Nick Auger, and Oak Park junior middie Brendan Egan.
In addition to the All-Americans honored, three players received Academic All-American honors: Attack Conor O’Brien of Westlake, attack Zack Walker of Valencia and middie Roy Ward of Thousand Oaks.
Coach Tyler Gilbert of Thousand Oaks was selected as Coach of the Year after guiding the Lancers to a 14-5 record and a spot in the U.S. Lacrosse L.A. semifinals. Geoff Sebold of Westlake was named Assistant Coach of the Year, and Stu Sanderson of Simi Valley and the SCLA youth league was named Man of the Year.
