Host Fred Opie speaks with Lynchburg Lacrosse Coach Steve Koudelka. Now in his 21 season, Koudelka did not inherit a winning program, he built one. His teams have made NCAA tournament appearances each the last four seasons and in 2015 he was named the Division III coach of the year. Koudelka is a native of Long Valley, New Jersey where he had been a three sport athlete in soccer, basketball, and lacrosse. He was an All American lacrosse goalie at Gettysburg College before going on and playing professionally for the New Jersey Pride. He was one of just 12 goalkeepers invited to try out for the 1998 U.S. national team. Koudelka is married and has three children. Opie and Koudelka talk the problem with adolescents specializing in sports, getting by in from players, and different types of student athletes
