Owen Binder (6g, 1a) and Matt Groeninger (2g, 5a) each went off for seven points to lead No. 3 St. Margaret’s to an 18-5 win over Santa Margarita on Friday. The Tartans have now won 10 in a row to keep pace with Loyola, Mater Dei and Foothill the other top four teams with just one loss.

Binder and Groeninger were far from the only Tartans to have impressive performances against the Eagles. Makai Todd and Will Stahl both finished with five points (3g, 2a) and Bobby Springer had another impressive night at the dot winning 16 of 25 faceoffs. Riley Chester (2g), Tyler Matthews (1g), Seth Forstot (1g) and Hayden Chester (1a) rounded out the scoring for the Eagles.

The Tartans (11-1) now look forward to the annual regular season showdown with no. 4 Foothill on Tuesday. The 8-4 Eagles get back to Trinity League play on Monday when they travel to JSerra.
