It only took the St. Margaret’s boys lacrosse team to rebound from Saturday’s loss to Mater Dei. Sparked by Bobby Springer’s 15 of 18 performance at the dot, the Tartans beat Servite 13-1 in a home match on Tuesday.

St. Margaret’s had no intentions of losing for a second straight game, as they jumped out to a 6-0 lead in the first quarter. The lead eventually ballooned to 11-0 by the time halftime rolled around. The second half was relatively quiet with the Friar’s breaking the shutout midway through Q3 and the Tartans adding two more goals to reach the final score.

Matt Groeninger once again paced the Tartans’ offense with three goals and two assists while Makai Todd (2G, 2A), Will Stahl (2G, 2A), Owen Binder (2G, 1A) and Riley Chester (2G) each found the back of the net twice.Seth Forstot and Dylan Lamb each had one goal for the Tartans while Forstot added one assist. Defensively, Sebastien Chicas made seven saves.

St. Margaret’s (2-1) returns to action on Tuesday at home against Santa Fe Christian at 7:30 p.m. Servite (0-5) will look to earn its first win on the same day, as its next game is at El Dorado at 7 p.m.
