SMES Downs Yorba Linda 16-2

SMES St. Margaret’s may have gotten the complete win they needed against Yorba Linda to get back on track to championship form.

The Tartans came onto the field for the first round of play-offs with a lot of energy, attacking the net, dominating face-offs, and showcasing a solid defense which lead them to a victory over the Yorba Linda Mustangs, 16-2.

Payton Fales was back between the pipes, saving four of the six shots by the Mustangs. Fernando Delgado, who was the Tartan goalkeeper in Payton’s absence, came out of the crease, playing tough defense. Zach Shore played lock down defense as well that attributed to the Mustang’s lack of shot production.
