Team California, whose roster features nine players from Orange County, went 3-2 at the Brine National Lacrosse Classic in Midlothian, Virginia.

Gabe Benso (Santiago), Ryan Binford (Mater Dei), Andrew Juliusion (Mater Dei), AJ McLean (Edison), Jack Seals (Servite), Myles Smart (Foothill), Evan Stein (Corona Del Mar), Zach Torres (Mater Dei), and Sean Waterman (Mater Dei) were all selected from a regional tryout to represent Team California at the tournament.

Team California got off to a successful start at the Brine National Lacrosse Classic, beating Georgia 8-6, Michigan 9-5, and New England 7-5. In their final pool play game, California fell short to the tournaments eventual champion, Rochester, by a score of 5-2. With a 3-1 record, California claimed the no. 2 seed in their bracket, pitting them against Florida in the first round of the playoffs. Ultimately, Florida was able to ward off California 8-7. Florida advanced to the finals but was beaten by Rochester 9-2.

Both Smart and Waterman were selected to the Brine NLC All-Star game.
