Sam Slobom’s (2 goals, 1 assist) man-up goal with 3:06 left in the game was the gave for Capistrano Valley High School a 6-5 win over Dana Hills High School on Tuesday. After a scoreless first quarter and a 2-2 tie at the half, Capo created some breathing room with three goals in the third to give them a 5-3 lead. The Dolphins climbed right back in it with two goals in the fourth to tie the game before Slobom netted the game winner. Blake Berk was the leading point scorer for the Cougars with 1 goal and 3 assists. Carter Bache (2 goals) and Brad McCarville (1 goal) completed the Capo scoring.
Jordan Wanger had 9 saves for Capo in another strong outing.
Capo (2-3) will host Tustin on Thursday. The Dolphins (1-6) will be looking to halt a four game losing streak when the visit Laguna Hills on Thursday.
