Last Year: 14-6 (5-1)
Playoff Finish: Lost 12-10 to Colorado in National Semifinal

The 2014 Gauchos made it through countless overtimes and dramatic finishes all the way to a surprise showing in the MCLA Semifinals.

This year’s roster may look quite a bit different, but under the helm of Head Coach Mike Allan they hope to take the next step on their road to their first National Championship since 2005.  Looking to hold down the defensive half of the field are returning junior defenseman Matt Hirning (Judge Memorial Catholic, UT) and David Abady (Huntington Beach, CA), and freshman Kyle Bundegaard (Patrick Henry, CA). Orange County freshman David Swerdlow (Sage Hill, CA) and Hank Lewis (Foothill HS, CA) will be part of a four-way competition for the starting goalie spot. Junior attackman Blake Samuel (Bellevue, WA) will provide veteran leadership for talented freshmen and former HS teammates Jack Houseworth (Bella Vista HS, CA), and Ryan Fuchs (Bella Vista HS, CA). Coach Allan said sophomore Casey Mix (Corona Del Mar, CA) has decided not to play this spring, which is a blow to the roster. Nevertheless, the Gauchos look primed to make another run for the MCLA championship, if they can survive one of the toughest schedules in the nation.
