Last weekend Chapman University was host to the Southwestern Lacrosse Conference Championships, and MaxLaxOC was there to catch some of the exciting action. The first Division-1 Semi-Final game on Friday night featured the top ranked Grand Canyon Lopes and the San Diego State Aztecs.

In an exhilarating 1st Quarter the Lopes would finish it off with a three goal run to take the lead 5-4. GCU would hit their stride in the 2nd Quarter, building a commanding 11-5 lead going into half-time.

The 3rd Quarter was highlighted by several fast break goals, which helped the Lopes further increase their lead to 15-7.  A flurry of goals in the 4th Quarter by the ‘Tecs excited fans from both teams, but ultimately it was too little, too late as Grand Canyon won 16-11.

Congratulations to both teams on their amazing seasons thus far, and on receiving bids to the MCLA National Championship Tournament in Irvine, May 11th-16th. Enjoy this SLC Championship Edition of MaxLaxOC’s Game of the Week!
