Shin Shines as St. Margarets Begins Postseason Play with a Bang

SAN JUAN CAPISTRANO- The No.1 St. Margarets Tartans took care of business in the first round of the playoffs Tuesday, defeating No. 16 Huntington Beach 19-3. The Tartans put their foot on the gas early on all ends of the field and did not look back.

Andy Shin (6 goals, 3 assists) had a monster nine-point performance in the win and Kevin Groeninger (4g, 4a) was all over the field as well. Koa Todd (3g, 1a), Garrett Kuntz (2g, 2a), Tomas Anderson (2g, 2a), Trevor Peay (1g) and Stephen Deck (1g) all contributed to the Tartans offensive attack on Tuesday.

Chris Totah and Stu Pollard were big at the dot for St. Margarets, winning a combined 21 of 25 faceoffs. The Tartans had 43 shots on goal compared to eight by the Oilers.

St. Margarets will host No. 8 Great Oak on Thursday in the quarterfinals.
