Seaman Shows He Can Swim with the Dolphins in Servite Victory

Servite_thumbThe Servite Friars jumped out to an early 4-1 lead against visiting Dana Hills on Thursday, and then hung on for an 11-8 win despite a tenacious attempt by the Dolphins to get back in the game,

The win was the third in the last four outings for the resurgent Friars.   Michael Seaman led the Servite offense with five points (4 goals and 1 assist).

Servite held what appeared to be a commanding 4-1 early lead on goals by Evan Purpura, Nick Prado, Seaman and then Prado again before Dana Hills caught fire and scored two goals within a minute to close the gap to 4-3 at the end of the first quarter.  Michael Brant, Colton Brown, and Logan Perry scored provided the Dolphins first quarter scoring.  A pair of Dolphin goal from Brandon Rogers and Brown’s second of the game kept pace with the three scored by Servite (two by Seaman and one by Purpura) to give Servite a 7-6 lead at halftime.

Servite’s Chase Anderson and Dana’s Perry swapped goals in the third quarter before Servite pulled away by outscoring the Dolphins 3-1 in the final quarter. Perry completed his hat trick for the Dolphins.  Not to be outdone. Purpura and Prado also completed their hat tricks, and Seaman scored his fourth of the game.

Servite (6-10) closes out the season by hosting Mater Dei on Tuesday and visiting Santa Margarita on Thursday.
