The San Diego United lacrosse club, which is holding tryouts Sunday for its 2017 Fall and Winter season, announced it will be donating all money collected in tryout fees this weekend to help those affected by Hurricane Harvey in Texas.
“Our staff wanted to do something to help those in need and with a short window we figured this was the easiest way,” club director Jesse Foss said.
Registration for the SD United tryouts, which will take place Sunday, Sept. 10, at Ranch Bernardo High School, included a $25 per player tryout fee. That fee now will be donated to the Samaritan’s Purse – Hurricane Harvey Relief Fund.
The tryouts are open to boys lacrosse players in the Classes of 2021 (freshman) through 2018 (senior) and will take place from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday.
