Four-year varsity goalie and San Clemente High School team captain Austin Boyer has verbally committed to play lacrosse at the NCAA’s newest Division 1 lacrosse program, Cleveland State. Cleveland State is coached by former Denver and Princeton assistant coach Dylan Sheridan and will be competing at the Division 1 level in its inaugural year in 2017.
Boyer has been a standout in the cage for the Tritons over the past three seasons and is poised to have a big senior year with the always-competitive Tritons. A few of Boyer’s career highlights include: 2015 SCHS team MVP, All-League Freshman Player of the Year, U15 National Championship with Brady’s Bunch, Denver Shootout All-Star, Nike Blue Chip attendee in 2013 and 2015.
“I’m excited to be playing for Coach Sheridan and the Cleveland State Vikings starting in their inaugural NCAA D1 year,” said Boyer. “Cleveland State is a perfect fit for me and the resources and commitment the school is putting into the lacrosse program is impressive. You can tell they mean to compete with the best as the program grows.”
