Santiago girls lacrosse player Madison “Maddy” Cunningham recently announced on Twitter that she has committed to play NCAA Division 2 lacrosse at Colorado State-Pueblo. “Made it official today i want to thank everyone who stood by my side through it all. Colorado,i’m comin for ya,” Cunningham tweeted.

Cunningham, a 5’8 defender has been playing for about five years. According to her mother Victoria, who started the girls lacrosse team at Santiago, Maddy is the first girl from Santiago High School to get a lacrosse scholarship.

Cunningham has also played club lacrosse for Best Coast, NOC (North Orange County) and OC United. A three-year varsity player at Santiago, Maddy’s accolades include being a team captain, team defensive player of the year, and a Pacific Lacrosse League championship.
Last season, the Thunderwolves went 8-8 overall, and 3-4 in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference.
