Santiago Moves Up to No. 15

Santiago High School continues to climb the ranks, moving up to No. 15. That is big news because with selection announcements just six days away, the Sharks are in a position to make the playoffs in their first year of CIF competition. We will have to wait and see how the coaches and the selection committee vote next Saturday to find out for sure if this will be the year of the Shark or not.

While Santiago grabbed the headlines, we hope you like Sea King Blue. Once again Corona del Mar batted 1.000 and is the unanimous choice for No. 1. That means they get their picture on the front page. Again. Foothill was an equally unanimous choice for No. 2. Other highlights in this week’s poll:

  • The Top 11 remain the same as last week;
  • Yorba Linda won the Century League Championship, earning an automatic bid. No. 16 Aliso Niguel is currently not in a play off position; and
  • No. 16 Aliso Niguel and No. 17 Dana Hills play each on Saturday, the last day of the regular season. That game should be played with playoff-intensity as both bubble teams get one last chance to impress the voter on Saturday.

This week’s poll results are presented below.
