No. 18 San Marcos won its ninth consecutive game Thursday, 13-4 over Dos Pueblos, continuing its drive to earn its first spot in the US Lacrosse/Southern Section North playoff tournament.
The Royals (9-1) raced out to a 7-0 halftime lead and weren’t threatened in the second half in beating Dos Pueblos for the second time this season. San Marcos won 7-2 at Dos Pueblos (4-6) on March 6.
Eight players scored for San Marcos, led by junior captain Justin Lehman with four goals and three assists and Lucas Sauto and Lucas McDonald with two goals each. McDonald earned the game ball from Coach Rick Lehman.
Dos Pueblos had offensive opportunities thanks to a strong showing at the face-off dot, but the San Marcos defense held up. Royals goalie Ryan Lehman set the tone early with a crease stuff in the opening minutes.
San Marcos travels to Simi Valley to take on Royal (4-6) on April 13.
