San Clemente held off Foothill in a tight game that was close until the very last second. San Clemente jumped out to an early 2-0 lead but Foothill surged back to tie the game at the end of the first quarter. The teams exchanged two goals each in the second quarter and ended the first half tied, 4-4. San Clemente was able to jump ahead in the third by one goal taking a 7-6 lead into the fourth quarter. Each time Foothill tied the score San Clemente was able to respond with a goal of their own and score ended 9-8 in favor of the Tritons.
The big story of the game was San Clemente goalie Harrison Webb who faced a barrage of Foothill shots and came up with 17 saves, several in the crease. Once again San Clemente had a well-balanced offense led by Matt Keany (2g,2a), David Howren (2g,1a), Josh Sanchez (2g,1a), Nick Lemus (2g). Eric Zoe added a goal with Brandon Wilson, Liam Nelson and Jack Regalado contributing with an assist. Foothill was led by Cole Falbo (3g,1a), Ellis Geis (2g,1a), Ryan Foy (1g,1a), Josh Fox (1g) and Jack Tyson (1g).
Next up for Foothill is an April 8th matchup against San Diego powerhouse and nationally ranked (Inside Lacrosse #22) Torrey Pines. San Clemente heads to Nevada over spring break to play Coronado Red and Palo Verde.
