San Clemente High School Girls Lacrosse Conquers Mission Viejo 17-4.

San Clemente continued its domination of the Sea View League with a 17-4 win at Mission Viejo on April 18th.

Triton junior Jessica De Collibus struck in the first 50 seconds,  and San Clemente  methodically scored every few minutes thereafter to ratchet up a 8-0 lead after 20 minutes.  The Diablos foiled any thoughts of a shut out with a goal with five minutes remaining in the half, but De Collibus and senior Maddie Ward tacked on two more goals.  Mission had a last second goal to make the score 10-2 at halftime.

The Tritons wasted no time in the second half as sophmore Delainey Iles scored off the draw and junior Kiley Buckley found the back of the cage 40 seconds later.  The Tritons continued to roll with another two goals in two minutes, and junior Shay Hefft added a pair at minutes 15 and 13. Throughout the game a diverse offense had six different players score, including three with three goals each.  San Clemente’s defense offered little hope for the Diablos, and senior Triton goalie Veronica Petrikas had a 62% save percentage.

The Tritons are undefeated at 6-0 in league play and remain at home for the rest of the regular season hosting El Toro on April 21, Aliso Niguel on April 25th and ending April 27th against Capistrano Valley on Senior Night.
