Ryan Blank is the Defensive POTW

Ryan Blank, senior goalie from Foothill is the MaxlaxOC.com Defensive Player of the Week.   The number say it all. The Knights scored victories over NorCal powerhouses St Ignatious and De La Salle last week thanks to Blank’s stone wall imitation. In the De LaSalle win he had 13 saves vs 6 goals for a .680 save percentage vs top level shooters. Against powerhouse St. Ignatius he had 13 saves vs 4 goals for a ridiculous .760 save percentage. We are talking about a team that can really shoot the ball in St Ignatius.  Here are a just a few examples of his body of work against St. Ignatius:

Maxlax caught up with coach Fox after the trip north. “Ryan was tremendous in the goal. He came up with big save after big save to hold off the Spatans and was locked in for St Ignatius. Ryan showed what he is capable of and why he can play at the next level” the head coach stated, ” Senior leadership between the pipes made the difference in Norcal.”

Maxlax was front and center when Blank got hot  in the second half vs St Margarets earlier in the season. When asked what sparked the second half performance it was all about team. “My teammates get me going. When we play hard together its more fun and I play better,” Stated the Senior keeper. The Senior will head to St Johns next year to continue playing lacrosse.
