Santa Margarita Catholic High School junior defenseman Eric Rubak verbally committed to Bellarmine University over the weekend. A member of the Eagles varsity since his freshman year, Rubak was named an Eagles captain this year. Listed at 6’2″ 195 pounds, Rubak leverages his size and strength with physical play. He throws heavy checks and likes to punish opposing attackmen who start to feel too comfortable on the crease. He was a Fab 40 Selection this summer at the Philly Showcase.
Head coach Adam Guy had this to say about his junior captain ” We are very proud of Eric and his commitment to play lacrosse at the higher level, and more importantly, continue his education at a four year university. Eric is an outstanding young man of good character and he worked very hard to achieve these goals. I look forward to watching Eric grow and succeed these next two years as a Santa Margarita Eagle and beyond as a Bellarmine Knight.”
