Royal Girls End Regular Season with 9th Straight Win

The eighth-ranked Royal girls lacrosse team wrapped up its regular season Friday with a 14-1 victory over crosstown rival Simi Valley, extending the squad’s winning streak to nine games.

Now the Highlanders (12-4) will await Sunday’s playoff schedule announcement and hope to carry their momentum into the postseason tournament, which begins Tuesday.

Seniors (5 goals, 2 assists) and (4g, 3a) led the Royal offense, which took a 7-1 halftime lead, then blanked the in the second half. Senior Maddie Arrasmith (2g), freshman (1g, 3a), senior (1g, 1a) and freshman Kourtney Carter (1g) completed the Highlanders’ scoring.

Royal hasn’t lost since dropping two games in the Bash tournament March 17. The Highlanders finished that event with a win over , currently ranked No. 14, and haven’t lost since. Included in the streak are wins over ranked teams Chaminade, Oak Park (twice), and .
