Rogers Brothers Lead Lions Past Sierra Canyon

Sophomore Cade Rogers scored five goals Wednesday and his senior brother Cort Rogers scored three, powering No. 8 Oaks Christian to a 12-6 win over host No. 13 Sierra Canyon.

Sierra Canyon scored first in the contest, but the Rogers brothers combined for three in a row in the quarter and four of the Lions’ five goals in the second quarter as Oaks built an 8-4 halftime lead.

Senior Mike Spaeth scored three of his four goals in the fourth quarter as the Lions (8-3) pulled away.

Cade Rogers (5g, 3a), Cort Rogers (3g, 4a), Spaeth (4g) and Ronnie Redell (1a) completed the Oaks Christian scoring.

Oaks Christian is back in action Friday night at home, taking on No. 9 Crespi (7-5), which beat Glendale on Wednesday.

Sierra Canyon (6-2) is off until next week when the Trailblazers play back-to-back games at No. 6 Oak Park and No. 2 Palos Verdes on Tuesday and Thursday.
