Senior Macchio Rissone scored eight goals Friday, powering No. 12 Palisades to an 18-7 victory over neighboring rival No. 14 Santa Monica. The victory pushed the Dolphins’ record to 2-1 on the season.
The loss dropped Santa Monica to 0-3 after two close losses to open the season, 9-8 at St. John Bosco and 8-7 in overtime at Redondo Union.
Rissone, pictured in a photo from the Dolphins’ loss at Chaminade a week ago, had scored eight goals in Pali’s first two games. He matched that output in four quarters vs. the Vikings. Rissone is committed to NCAA Division III Ohio Wesleyan.
Senior Aidan Caso scored three goals for the Dolphins, and senior Jack O’Rourke and freshman Ethan Rubin scored two each. Junior James Burks, sophomore Reicher Bergstein and sophomore Milo Sherman each scored one.
Rissone and O’Rourke are co-captains for the 2018 Dolphins, along with defenders Marin Avila and Liam Mathers.
Palisades plays No. 3 Harvard Westlake today at home.
