Going 6-0 and beating teams from five different states, the San Diego-based RC Elite Silver squad took home the ADRLN Elite Division championship this weekend at the 2018 Adrenaline Challenge.
RC Elite Silver breezed through Saturday’s pool-play, defeating 101 Lacrosse Elite (Sonoma, Calif.) 15-2, 3d Oregon 2019 13-1 and 12.23 Lacrosse 2019 (Illinois) 16-1 to finish atop Pool A with a 44-4 goal differential.
Sunday, RC Elite Silver opened bracket play with its closest game of the tournament, edging Seattle Starz 2019 7-6 to advance to the semifinals. An 8-3 win over Vegas Starz Elite A vaulted RC Elite Silver into the title game, where the Rotten Cheeseburgers took down ADVNC SF Team French 7-3. In all, RC Elite Silver outscored its six opponents 66-16 in the event.
LA Heat 2018 also went 3-0 in pool play and advanced to the championship bracket, beating 3D San Diego 2019 7-3, Alcatraz Outlaws 2019 8-6 and Madlax Oregon 2018 12-5. After a 4-3 quarterfinal win over DoCo Lacrosse Red (Colorado), the Heat 2018s were knocked out with an 11-7 semifinal loss to ADVNC SF Team French.
SO Cal Express 2018 also reached the championship bracket with a 3-0 pool-play record, but Express lost 7-6 to Vegas Starz Elite A in the quarterfinals before finishing with an 8-6 win over the Seattle Starz 2019 in a consolation game.
Among other SoCal clubs in the division, SD United Black went 3-2; LA Mavs Elite and 3d San Diego 2019 went 2-3; and 3D Southland 2018/19 and Santa Monica Dragons Elite 2018/19 went 1-4.
