El Segundo senior Preston Quashnick followed a five-goal performance on Wednesday with a nine-goal, five-assist effort Friday in the Eagles’ 19-5 Ocean League win over visiting Beverly Hills.
The Eagles (6-4, 3-0) jumped out to a 4-0 lead in wet and slippery conditions, then extended it to 10-2 at halftime and 14-4 after three quarters.
Despite earning plenty of possessions behind the face-off work of sophomore middie Jason Harward, who won 18 of 28 draws, the Normans (2-7, 0-2) were unable to create much offense. Senior Zach Antin scored four of Beverly’s five goals.
Cory Lund (3g, 6a, 10 GBs) and Lukas Roscoe (4g, 1a, 5 GBs) joined Quashnick as multi-goal scorers, and Hudson Roles (1g, 3a), Daniel Ball (1g, 1a) and Jacob Brockman (1g) also scored.
The Eagles will wrap up the first round of league play on Wednesday with a visit to Culver City.
