Quartet of Locals Selected for Philly Showcase

RecruitingRundown.com reports that the NXT Sports  reviewed nearly 5,000 applications before selecting 460 sophomores and juniors for this weekend’s Philly Showcase.  That is an acceptance rate that rivals the Ivy League’s.  Not surprisingly, Orange County will be well represented in this talented group.   Leading the group is big Matt Karzak.  The junior attackman who plays for JSerra Catholic High School is returning to Philadelphia after being named a Fab 40 All Star spot at this summer’s Philly Boys Showcase Camp.   Joining the junior attackman/middie will be a trio of the OC’s best long poles:

  • JSerra sophomore Shawn Rodriguez  will play on Team 7;
  • Santa Margarita Catholic High School junior Eric Rubak will play for Team 14; and
  • Trabuco Hills High School junior Scotty Barger  will play for Team 20.

The games will be played at Episcopal Academy in Newtown, PA, and the weather is expected to cooperate with a forecast of clear days with temperatures in the 50s.  Join us in wishing all four players well!
