Following Foothill High School’s five year reign from 2007 through 2011, boys’ high school lacrosse entered into an era of fierce competition at the top. The current trend is for the championship to change hands each year: Corona del Mar High School in 2012, St. Margaret’s Episcopal School in 2013, and Foothill in 2014 have all taken turns winning the ‘ship. Over that same time span, the final four has been dominated by a select few. Foothill and CdM are three for three. St. Margaret’s, JSerra Catholic High School, and San Clemente High School have all been to the semis twice. Santa Margarita Catholic High School (2012) is the only other program to crash the final four party in the last three years.
