Peninsula LSM Scott Phillips Commits to Bryant

Rising junior Scott Phillips, a two year starter Peninsula, has committed to play NCAA Division I lacrosse at Bryant University in Rhode Island.

Phillips twice has been named second-team All-Bay League for the Panthers.

“Scott has started on varsity since freshman year,” Peninsula coach Lane Jaffe said. “He is an absolute ground-ball machine and has the speed to create transition. Scott loves the sport, plays with a smile, and always had a a stick in his hands.”

Bryant plays in the Northeast Conference against such schools as Saint Joseph’s, Hobart and Wagner. The Bulldogs won the conference three years in a row before slipping to 4-2 (8-10 overall) last spring.

“Scott will be a valuable asset at Bryant, where they like to create offense from their LSMs,” Jaffe said. “I think it’s perfect fit academically, with their business school, and lacrosse-wise, with Coach [Mike] Pressler.”
