No. 2 Palos Verdes and No. 11 Mira Costa each posted victories in the Bay League semifinals Tuesday, earning the right to square off in Thursday’s league championship game at Palos Verdes. The Sea Kings (15-3) won their ninth consecutive game.
Senior Gage Rowland scored five goals and sophomore Jake Jellison scored four, leading the Sea Kings to an 18-2 victory over Peninsula. Palos Verdes led 11-2 at halftime and 17-2 heading to the fourth quarter.
Face-off middies Colin Fitt (7 of 7), Cole Clinton (7 of 7) and Parker Violette (6 of 7) ensured the Sea Kings had plenty of offensive opportunities.
At Mira Costa, Connor Barnes scored four goals to lead the Mustangs (10-4) to a 9-4 victory over Redondo Union.
Palos Verdes and Mira Costa haven’t faced each other since early March, a 13-4 Sea Kings victory.
