Orange County will take another great leap forward in its transition from lacrosse not bed to lacrosse hot bed when it plays host to the Adrenaline High Rollers recruiting event this weekend. Once a barren wasteland when it came to quality lacrosse events, the OC is fast becoming one of lacrosse’s big stages. Quality tournaments like the Cal Lax Classic and Tribz Lacrosse California Showcase are attracting teams from outside the area. US Lacrosse finds the OC worthy of stops for the men’s and women’s national team clinics. Rumors run rampant of a Notre Dame vs Denver showdown in the OC this spring. And the trend continues as Adrenaline High Rollers, considered by many to be the most prestigious recruiting event in the west, will be held at Orange Coast College this weekend. Adrenaline reports that the event has drawn top players from as many as 12 states and Canada over the years looking to strut their stuff in front of as many as 65 D1, D2, D3, and MCLA coaches. Adrenaline boasts of a 75% College Placement success rate for this event.
This year’s event will feature high school (2014, 2015, 2016, and 2017) and middle school (2018 and 2019) divisions. The action begins at 7:00 am on Saturday and goes almost non-stop until the final games begin at 3:00 pm on Sunday. The high school players have been assigned to one of 19 teams, and the middle school players have been assigned to one of five teams. Each team plays 4 games (two on Saturday and two on Sunday) while the recruiters jockey for a good position on the sidelines. The highlight of the weekend is the high school all-star game that will be played under the lights Saturday night at 6:00 pm. And of course, MaxLaxOC.com will be there to report on all the action.
